Summary

We are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to provide cloud engineering, automation, infrastructure support, and operational services for mission-critical FAA environments. This role will work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to design, deploy, automate, and support highly available cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS/Azure cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, PowerShell scripting, and Windows administration. Experience supporting low-code platforms such as Appian is highly desired. This position requires a hands-on engineer who can support production systems, automate deployments, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
Support and maintain cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure running in AWS and Azure environments.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible.
Build, deploy, and support CI/CD pipelines utilizing Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Automate provisioning, deployment, and configuration of development, testing, staging, and production environments.
Administer and support Windows Server environments, including troubleshooting and configuration management.
Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate infrastructure and operational tasks.
Support and administer Appian environments, including platform maintenance, deployments, user management, and troubleshooting.
Monitor application and infrastructure performance and implement proactive alerting and operational dashboards.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and security.
Follow DevOps and cloud engineering best practices to improve deployment efficiency and operational stability.
Support containerized application environments and deployment processes.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of IT infrastructure, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or DevOps experience.
At least 1-2 years of hands-on cloud support experience.
Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.
Experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.
Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
Strong Windows Server Administration experience.
Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues in production environments.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting or administering Appian low-code environments.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
Experience with Linux administration.
Familiarity with Desired State Configuration (DSC).
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Prometheus.
Experience working in Federal Government environments.
Existing Public Trust Clearance.
