Job Details

Responsibilities:
1. Apply expert knowledge of designed structures in construction projects, ensuring they are safe, reliable and meet the client's specifications.
2. Use AutoCAD software to create detailed structural designs and plans.
3. Conduct site inspections to monitor the progress of construction projects and ensure compliance with design specifications.
4. Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to understand the project scope and requirements.
5. Prepare reports, designs and drawings, making calculations about loads and stresses.
6. Select appropriate construction materials, providing technical advice to construction personnel.
7. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget by monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
8. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on construction projects.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering software.
5. Strong knowledge of construction materials and engineering techniques.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-engineers.
8. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Commitment to staying updated on current regulations and design standards in the construction industry.
