Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Houston, TX.

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Application Developer/Technical Lead to join a highly collaborative, hands-on team where everyone contributes across the full lifecycle of application delivery. This individual will serve as a key technical partner and right-hand resource to leadership, acting as a go-to for complex technical challenges, system design, and solutioning.

This is not a heads-down development role-this person will be expected to wear multiple hats, contribute strategically, and work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Support applications across the full lifecycle:
* Intake issues (tickets, user questions, production support)
* Troubleshoot and resolve bugs
* Design and implement enhancements
* Build and deploy new functionality

Work directly with vendor-supported applications:
* Log and manage issues with vendors
* Partner with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve defects

Act as a technical advisor and problem solver for the team:
* Research issues and propose scalable solutions
* Challenge assumptions to ensure the best path forward

* Design and architect custom-built applications and systems from scratch
* Contribute to system architecture decisions and long-term design strategy
* Actively contribute to development efforts as needed

Build, enhance, and maintain applications using:
* C#/.NET (object-oriented programming)
* SQL/database development

REQUIREMENTS:
* 8+ years of experience in application development and support
* Strong experience with C# and object-oriented programming; SQL and database design/development
* Experience working across the full SDLC (support, design, development, and deployment)
* Experience in a hybrid role (dev + support + architecture)
* Background working in small, highly collaborative teams

Proven ability to:
* Troubleshoot production issues
* Work with third-party/vendor applications
* Build and architect custom solutions
* Mentor or guide junior developers

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
