About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the Production Support (L2/L3) function for a large-scale Supply Chain application modernization program. This is a techno-managerial role that requires strong technical expertise, production support leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications running in production. This role also involves managing maintenance releases, driving incident resolution, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality support services.
The successful candidate should be comfortable switching between hands-on technical troubleshooting and leadership responsibilities while working closely with client stakeholders, development teams, architects, and offshore support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support Leadership
· Lead and manage the L2/L3 Production Support team for enterprise applications.
· Own end-to-end production support operations, ensuring high application availability and reliability.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for production incidents and critical support activities.
· Coordinate onsite and offshore support teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
Incident & Problem Management
· Manage P1/P2 production incidents and drive service restoration.
· Perform incident triage, impact assessment, and escalation management.
· Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and implement preventive actions.
· Collaborate with development teams to resolve application defects and improve system stability.
Application Monitoring & Technical Troubleshooting
· Monitor application health using enterprise monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, or similar platforms.
· Analyze application logs, API failures, database transactions, and system performance issues.
· Troubleshoot Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Oracle, and REST API-related production issues.
· Work closely with architects and engineering teams to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
Release Management
· Plan and manage maintenance releases for production applications.
· Coordinate development, testing, UAT, defect resolution, and release activities.
· Ensure successful execution of maintenance releases while minimizing business impact.
· Track release progress and communicate status to stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Team Management
· Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Users, Client IT Teams, PMO, Architects, and Development teams.
· Provide leadership and technical guidance to the support team.
· Drive operational excellence through process improvements and support best practices.
· Manage support metrics, SLA adherence, and operational reporting.
Preferred Experience
· Experience supporting enterprise Java-based applications in production.
· Experience managing production support teams for large-scale enterprise applications.
· Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Warehouse Management applications is highly preferred.
· Familiarity with Hybrid Agile delivery models.
· ITIL knowledge or certification is an added advantage.
