Job Description

Technology Engineer, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Decatur, IL. Provide CAPEX planning, prioritization and tracking. Actively participate in the portfolio management process. Guide and drive the technical scope for CAPEX projects. Partner with Operations Leadership in the development of site capital budgeting. Act as a super wave user for WAVE project management software for oversight and managing the portfolio of initiatives within the region. Drive accountability of initiatives and project execution. Support the prioritization of the Project portfolio in cooperation with the Plant Manager, Business stakeholders, and the Technology Director. Support plant projects including the FEL process and oversight of contract engineers. Function as a manufacturing technology resource for plant operations leaders. Develop process knowledge required to guide plant engineers in the optimization of unity operations and the achievement of production targets. Participate in the development of SOPs, MOC and commissioning for specialized equipment that is specified by the Technology group. Assist plant personnel with the diagnosis of operational difficulties and provide recommendations for corrective action.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary Range: $126,880 - $136,880/yr. Standard company benefits.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of post-bachelor's, progressive, related work experience.

Must have five (5) years of experience with/in:
  • Implementing and tracking performance metrics to maintain or improve the effectiveness of operating assets;
  • Software applications such as Maximo, Coupa, AutoCad, and McKinsey Wave; and
  • Manufacturing unit operations, such as liquid and solid extraction, distillation, centrifugation, filtration, spray drying, dry blending, extrusion, and packaging;

Must have two (2) years of experience with/in:
  • Project or process engineering in the food or protein technologies industry;
  • Collaborating with commercial teams and R&D on identifying and deploying new technologies and systems;
  • Controls and plant automation; and
  • Leading optimization, innovation and capex portfolio management within an operating area.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
