Job Description
 
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Developer / Database Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale PostgreSQL solutions. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in database architecture, performance tuning, data integration, and cloud-native database platforms.
 
Database Design and Data Modeling
Logical and physical data modeling, normalization and denormalization, entity-relationship modeling, partitioning strategies, and scalable schema design.
 
SQL Development and Query Optimization
Advanced SQL and PL/pgSQL, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, views, materialized views, and execution-plan analysis.
 
Performance Tuning and Indexing
B-Tree, Hash, GIN, GiST, and BRIN indexes; VACUUM optimization; statistics management; memory tuning; and performance troubleshooting.
 
High Availability, Replication, and Scalability
Streaming and logical replication, failover, disaster recovery, read replicas, backup and recovery, and horizontal and vertical scaling.
 
PostgreSQL Tooling
pgAdmin, psql, pg_dump, pg_restore, monitoring tools, WAL management, and migration utilities.
 
Data Quality and Governance
Metadata management, lineage, profiling, validation, reconciliation, and lifecycle management.
 
ETL / ELT
Kafka, CDC, batch and real-time pipelines, integration frameworks, and event-driven architectures.
 
Programming and Application Development
Python, Java, SQL, Bash, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
 
Cloud Technologies
AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL, Terraform, and CI/CD.
 
Data Security
RBAC, encryption at rest and in transit, auditing, compliance, and PHI, PII, and PCI protection.
 
Highly Desired
Healthcare experience, database migrations, DevOps automation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Ansible.
 
Soft Skills
Problem-solving, communication, stakeholder engagement, leadership, accountability, and teamwork.
 
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of PostgreSQL experience, preferably in enterprise-scale database environments.
