Job Title : Power BI Developer (Debugging & Report Engineering)

Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Power BI Developer with strong experience in debugging existing reports, analyzing underlying code logic, troubleshooting data issues, and enhancing complex dashboards.
This role requires someone who can work beyond UI/dashboard design and has deep expertise in DAX, Power Query, SQL, data models, report performance optimization, and root cause analysis.
Please note: We are not looking for candidates who are focused only on UI/dashboard design. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in debugging and fixing existing Power BI reports and code logic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Debug and troubleshoot existing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models
- Analyze and resolve issues in DAX formulas, calculated measures, calculated columns, and Power Query transformations
- Investigate report discrepancies, data mismatches, refresh failures, and performance issues
- Work with existing report code and logic to identify root causes and implement fixes
- Optimize report performance by improving DAX queries, model relationships, and dataset refresh efficiency
- Work closely with data engineering / business teams to validate report outputs
- Modify and enhance existing reports based on business requirements
- Support production incidents related to reporting and BI solutions
- Perform data validation using SQL queries and source system checks
- Maintain documentation for report logic and issue resolutions
Technical Skills Required:
- Power BI Stack: Expert-level DAX, Row-Level Security (RLS), and Power BI Service administration.
- Data Engineering: Proficiency in SQL (Snowflake or SQL Server) and Python/PySpark for data preparation before it hits the dashboard.
- Platform Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory)
