Title: Hardware Lab Technician (Fri-Mon) & (Mon - Fri)
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 6 months
Weekend shift schedule of Friday through Monday from 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM (typically 8 hours per day)
We are seeking a Hardware Lab Technician to support advanced datacenter products within a dynamic engineering environment. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to help build and develop industry leading AI CPU and GPU accelerated computing solutions.
You will support sophisticated system level hardware and software environments, maintain laboratory systems, and perform debugging activities that contribute to product validation and quality assurance. This position provides exposure to cutting edge datacenter technologies, deep learning applications, and AI infrastructure while offering opportunities to develop new technical skills and expertise.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands on laboratory work, has a passion for product quality, and can work independently to complete priorities in a fast paced development environment.Responsibilities Assemble, build, and install bench top development platforms and large datacenter server systems.
Perform system assembly, disassembly, and mechanical rework activities using laboratory tools and equipment.
Prepare boards and hardware components for detailed solder rework activities.
Execute system validation and testing procedures to verify functionality and performance.
Collect, analyze, and communicate testing results to engineering teams.
Screen modules and boards as part of validation, troubleshooting, and debugging efforts.
Connect oscilloscope probes to boards and collect signal waveform data.
Support hardware and software debug activities across system level environments.
Maintain an organized laboratory environment and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency.
Support shipping, receiving, inventory management, and equipment tracking activities.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure development systems remain available and operational.
Work independently to manage daily priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Diploma, technical certification, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of hands on experience in an electronics laboratory or testing environment supporting silicon bring up, board validation, or system validation activities.
Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures and hardware operations.
Experience with hardware and software debugging in system level environments.
Familiarity with board bring up processes and customer support activities.
Experience using Linux command line tools and environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Ability to work overtime and company designated holidays when business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic networking knowledge and server maintenance experience.
- Ability to perform simple solder rework activities.
- Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting board level components.
- Experience with ARM and x86 processor architectures.
- Experience supporting GPU accelerated computing environments.
- Experience working with datacenter infrastructure and server systems.
