About the Role:

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Apps team, you'll be at the forefront of building and scaling ZoomInfo's core backend services. You'll work primarily with Node.js to develop robust, high-performance systems that power our platform and serve millions of users.
You'll design and implement scalable microservices, optimize existing systems, and build infrastructure that enables rapid feature development. Your expertise in Node.js will be essential, while knowledge of Java will provide valuable flexibility in our diverse technology ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and related frameworks
• Architect and implement microservices that handle high-volume traffic and complex business logic
• Leverage AI-powered development tools (such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve complex technical challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on modern development practices, including effective use of AI assistance tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in distributed systems
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and system design
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for backend services
• Stay current with emerging technologies, AI-assisted development practices, and industry best practices

What You Bring:
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience with backend software development using Node.js and Angular
• 3+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• 2+ years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadership
• Strong expertise in Node.js frameworks and technologies
• Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases like MongoDB

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Experience with Java for backend development (strong advantage)
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI technologies to enhance productivity, code quality, and problem-solving
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure)
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Experience with performance optimization and scalability
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles
• Passion for exploring and adopting innovative development tools and methodologies

Below is the US base salary for this position. Additional compensation such as Bonus, Commission, Equity and other benefits may also apply.

$140,000-$220,000 USD
