Role Summary
This role will help grow use of Artificial Intelligence across customer- and employee-facing experiences. You will partner with cross-functional business and technology teams to identify, design, and deliver AI-driven solutions that create measurable business value. This position requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development, and the ability to operate at scale in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Driving AI Strategy & Adoption

• Expand Delta's use of AI across customer- and employee-facing experiences.
• Partner with cross-functional business and technology teams to understand business needs and identify AI opportunities.
• Provide technical thought leadership and direction for AI solutions across centralized and distributed environments.
• Partner with Architecture, Foundations, and Security teams to establish and leverage standardized, industrialized design patterns.
• Define, design, and capture data required to measure the success of each AI solution.
• Communicate effectively, collaborate frequently, and ensure shared understanding across teams.

 
Delivering with Quality and Speed:

• Collaborate with business and product owners to engineer AI-powered solutions that create competitive advantage.
• Design and build AI components and services at scale within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Contribute to technology strategy and framework selection in partnership with foundation teams.
• Anticipate downstream impacts of technical decisions and design for future scalability.
• Produce clear documentation, diagrams, and code comments for all solutions.
• Design, develop, monitor, and scale AI components, APIs, and loosely coupled applications.
• Integrate AI solutions with highly available enterprise channels and systems.
• Apply security standards, test-driven development, and CI/CD automation to ensure reliability and scale.
• Mentor junior engineers and support measurement, logging, and error tracking practices.
• Lead code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze and implement performance, stability, and reliability improvements.
• Monitor metrics, trends, and costs to drive operational efficiency.
• Plan and execute automated, load, and performance testing.
• Operate in Agile teams with two-week sprint cycles.
• Own and support solutions in production, including issue triage and prevention.
• Promote an AI-first mindset and help democratize AI capabilities across.

 
Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional or academic experience in Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning.
• Experience with Agile software development and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, Spark.
• Expertise with Generative AI technology stacks, including prompt engineering frameworks, guardrails, and LLM fine-tuning.
• Hands-on development experience with AWS, including SageMaker and the AWS Generative AI stack (Bedrock, Guardrails, observability, and monitoring).
• Experience with Agentic AI platforms and frameworks, including MCP and A2A protocols.
• Experience working with Vector Databases and supporting data infrastructure for Generative AI pipelines and production systems.
• Experience in one or more areas such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), sentiment analysis, classification, or pattern recognition.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Keras, or Microsoft CNTK.
• Experience building, integrating, and supporting production-grade AI systems.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting to both technical and business audiences.
