Job Details

Are you ready to unleash your technical creativity? Dream, Innovate, Inspire and Empower the next generation to transform humanity through technology and imagination! As a Sr RF Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, develop, and test our complex products and technologies. These cover a very wide range from state of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll be responsible for Electronic Warfare (EW) systems analysis and design, radar propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, ELINT/SIGINT/ESM, and signal processing.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

The ideal applicant will have an eager problem-solving ability, a high degree of technical curiosity, and a product delivery mindset. They will be able to deeply dive into a customer's problems and friction points, quickly conceptualize possible solutions, apply enough engineering rigor to assess trades between possible solutions, develop conceptual designs, and articulate a realistic technical path to realizing a product with the fidelity possible on a time scale of days to weeks. In addition, the successful applicant will be capable of leading a 1-2 year project for detailed concept refinement and protype building, serving at a principal investigator or directing a small multi-discipline team.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher-level degree may substitute for relevant experience
  • Self-starter able to operate independently
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Effective, concise, clear verbal communication with customers and internal stakeholders, during large-form meetings, and potentially difficult conversations
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills for conveying complex technical concepts to non-expert audiences and providing material to technical proposals
  • Good business acumen to articulate ROI, construct a business case analysis for a conceptual design, and design with affordability in mind
  • A minimum of 2-years design and development expertise with at least one of the following types of RF systems: Electronic Warfare, ELINT/SIGINT/ESM, Radar, Signal Processing
  • An active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and project cost and schedule management
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers
  • Familiarity with technical baseline definition including the use of trade studies, and analysis of alternatives, and make/buy evaluations.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for rapid RF system prototyping, and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience with Ansys STK or AFSIM
