Summary

Job Summary The Senior Android Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality mobile applications that support digital experiences across financial planning, investing, and retirement solutions. This position requires a highly skilled Android developer with strong expertise in Kotlin, mobile architecture, and modern development practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, drive technical excellence, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating within Agile, cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications using Kotlin. Build and deliver mobile features from concept through deployment as part of cross-functional Agile teams. Contribute to the development of scalable mobile platforms and omni-channel digital experiences. Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver innovative mobile solutions. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers. Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making. Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code following software engineering best practices. Implement and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and debugging processes to ensure application quality. Optimize Android applications for performance, scalability, responsiveness, and reliability. Integrate and manage third-party libraries, APIs, and external services. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Leverage modern development tools and AI-assisted technologies to enhance productivity and software quality. Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices. Required Qualifications 6+ years of professional experience developing publicly available Android applications. Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android application development. Experience designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications in fast-paced environments. Solid understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming principles. Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior engineers. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience working in Agile software development environments. Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and application debugging. Experience optimizing Android applications for performance and responsiveness. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools. Experience integrating third-party libraries and RESTful APIs. Knowledge of mobile architectures, development trends, and modern Android development practices. Strong Git version control skills and experience with branching strategies. Understanding of RESTful web services and API integration. Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini, or similar technologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience building accessible mobile applications and implementing Android accessibility features. Experience developing large-scale consumer-facing mobile applications. Knowledge of modern Android architectural patterns and best practices. Experience contributing to mobile platform modernization and performance optimization initiatives. Familiarity with emerging mobile technologies and AI-enabled development workflows. Education: Bachelors Degree
