Position: Zscaler Project Manager

Location: Remote

Hiring Mode: 5-6 weeks (20 hrs/week)

Job Description:

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end implementation of Zscaler solutions including ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and related integrations.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource forecasts.
• Manage scope, budget, risk, dependencies, and change control processes.
• Coordinate internal engineering teams, security architects, network teams, and third-party partners.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and security strategy.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for executive sponsors, security leadership, and technical teams.
• Facilitate steering committees, status reporting, and executive-level updates.
• Manage customer expectations and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Oversight

• Understand Zscaler architecture and its integration with:
• Identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
• Endpoint management platforms
• SD-WAN and MPLS networks
• Firewall and proxy migrations
• Oversee policy migration from legacy perimeter-based security to Zero Trust models.
• Ensure proper change management and user communication strategies are executed.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Identify technical and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure deployments align with security compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, FedRAMP where applicable).
• Support audit readiness and documentation requirements.

Governance & Reporting

• Track KPIs, SLAs, and adoption metrics.
• Provide weekly and executive-level reporting on project health.
• Maintain documentation including project charters, RAID logs, and implementation playbooks.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT project management experience.
• 2+ years managing cybersecurity or network transformation initiatives.
• Direct experience delivering Zscaler implementations (ZIA and/or ZPA preferred).
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles.
• Experience with enterprise identity integration (SAML, SSO, MFA).
• Demonstrated ability to manage global, cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience migrating from traditional VPN or legacy proxy infrastructure.
• Background in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government).
• Experience managing multi-million dollar security programs.
