Data BI Analyst (Power BI + SQL)

We re looking for a Data BI Analyst who can go beyond dashboards and truly solve business problems with data.

This is not a build reports from specs role.

We need someone who can step into ambiguity, ask the right questions, and deliver scalable insights.

What You ll Do

• Partner directly with business teams to understand and shape data needs
• Turn loosely defined ideas into clear KPIs, metrics, and dashboards
• Build and maintain Power BI reports and data models
• Write and optimize SQL queries against large datasets
• Identify trends, issues, and opportunities through data
• Work closely with data engineering to ensure scalable, reliable solutions

What We re Looking For

Strong Power BI Skills

• Hands-on dashboard development
• Data modeling, DAX, performance tuning
• Understand when not to load large datasets directly

Strong SQL Skills

• Comfortable working with large-scale enterprise data
• Able to optimize queries and think about performance

Problem-Solver Mindset

• You don t wait for step-by-step instructions

• Data volume
• Architecture
• Tradeoffs

Business-Facing Communication

• Comfortable working with non-technical stakeholders
• Able to ask the right questions and clarify requirements

This Role Is NOT For

• Report-only developers
• Candidates who need detailed instructions to get started
• Those unfamiliar with working with large data volumes
• Anyone who jumps to solutions without understanding the problem

Basic Qualifications

• 3 5+ years in BI / Data Analytics
• Experience building dashboards and reports
• Strong SQL and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure data platforms (Synapse, Data Lake, etc.)
• Exposure to large-scale enterprise data environments
• Knowledge of data modeling and governance
