Our client is a leading automotive manufacturer producing precision rubber and plastic components for major automotive OEMs. They are looking to add a Continuous Improvement Engineer who is passionate about Lean Manufacturing, operational excellence, and improving manufacturing performance through data-driven decision making.

This individual will partner closely with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Quality to identify improvement opportunities, reduce waste, optimize manufacturing processes, and increase overall plant efficiency.

Job Details

Responsibilities
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving OEE, and optimizing cycle times.
Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, SMED, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
Analyze manufacturing data to identify process improvement opportunities.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis utilizing 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why methodologies.
Improve process capability and reduce variation throughout manufacturing operations.
Support APQP, PPAP, and FMEA activities for new and existing products.
Improve tooling performance and reduce mold changeover times.
Develop Standard Work and manufacturing documentation.
Lead automation and process improvement initiatives.
Train manufacturing personnel on Lean methodologies and Continuous Improvement tools.
Support new product launches and manufacturing process development.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
2+ years of Automotive Manufacturing experience
Lean Manufacturing experience
Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred)
Strong analytical and data analysis skills
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and IATF 16949

Preferred Experience
Plastic or Rubber Injection Molding
Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing
Automotive sealing systems
OEE improvement initiatives
Scrap reduction
Cycle time optimization
Tooling optimization
Automation projects
Excel and Minitab
