Job Description

Engineering Technician 2nd Shift: 2p-10p

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Principal Area of Responsibility: The Engineering Technician is a member of the Process Engineering team. The successful candidate will assist in root cause analysis, evaluate non-conforming material, and determine product disposition. The Engineering Technician coordinates dispositions cross-functionally with Process Engineers as needed.

Specific Duties:
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, planning, work instructions to ensure product conformance.
  • Coordinate scrap dispositions with internal engineering and quality teams. Must be capable of building trust by communicating with integrity, knowledge and skills.
  • Evaluate non-conforming parts; work with engineers on technical dispositions, and document rework steps
  • Provide recommendations to existing and new processes in order to improve overall process efficiency.
  • Conduct internal and supplier Quality System audits.
  • Review & manage / maintain Quality metrics, charts and/or graphs. In addition, must be capable of analyzing data to develop top level improvement plans.

Essential Competencies:
  • Familiarity with FANUC robots or willingness to learn.
  • Prior experience with Injection equipment and processes, a plus.
  • A solid sense of priorities and ability to stay focused with tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, hands-on strategic thinker with solid problem-solving skills which allows for data interpretation vs. simple reporting.
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Work requires verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
  • High energy level and ability to work some flexible hours.
