Summary

One of Apple's R&D groups is currently seeking a senior product design engineer. This engineer will be responsible for mechanical design of mechanisms and mechatronic systems from concept generation through physical implementation and validation. We are looking for passionate and creative individuals to explore concepts and push the performance bounds of packaging and performance in highly integrated electro-mechanical systems. In this role you will partner with cross-functional teams such as electrical, controls, and embedded FW engineers to realize mechatronic system designs. \n\nResponsibilities include: \nMechanical design (3D and 2D drawings) Mechanism design and integration \nElectrical component integration (sensors, electronics, wiring, and harnesses) \nPrototype, evaluate, develop, and harden designs \nClose collaboration with cross-functional teams

\nBS in mechanical engineering or similar field\n10+ years of hands-on, mechanism and mechatronic product design experience\nExperience selecting and integrating electronics, sensors, and mechanisms in challenging packaging environments\nStrong mechanical engineering analytical skills\nExperience selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirements\nExperience working in technical project groups in a professional environment\nProficiency in 3D CAD and creating 2D drawings\nExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) including emails, preparing slide presentations, and presenting technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teams\nDetail orientated and capable of handling multiple assignments at once

MS or PhD in mechanical engineering or similar field\nFluent in Siemens NX including surfacing tools\nExperience working through entire product cycle including shipping product experience\nExperience leading teams through product development cycle from concept development to production bring up\n
