Position Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the organization''s network infrastructure and systems. This role ensures secure, reliable connectivity across the organization by managing network performance, implementing security measures, overseeing system updates, and providing user support and training. Success in this position requires strong technical knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and computer systems to help maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
Objectives
- Support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Provide network support across the organization''s operating systems.
- Ensure stable, reliable connectivity for all networked computers.
- Develop, implement, and monitor disaster recovery procedures and processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain computer networks and related systems, including software, firewalls, VPNs, routers, and other network hardware.
- Schedule and monitor network data backups, and periodically restore files, applications, and complete systems on alternate hardware to verify backup integrity.
- Assist with the maintenance and support of the VoIP phone system.
- Manage network security solutions, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot connectivity and stability problems.
- Create, modify, and maintain user accounts, permissions, and network access settings.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for network systems and applications.
- Provide day-to-day support for computers and printers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in a network administration role.
- Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts and computing infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience with network engineering, operations, and performance analysis.
- Experience using industry-standard server management and monitoring tools.
