Here's what you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university
At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems
At least 5 years of design project delivery processes experience
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience
Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, and other related standards, such as ASHRAE
Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components
Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
Ideally, you will also have:
EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
5 years of experience as a facility engineer
Working knowledge of design-related deliverables, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc.
Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM360
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Passionate about buildings and construction

This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton
Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours - nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.

Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction.

Responsibilities:
As a facilities mechanical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client's semiconductor-based manufacturing. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders. You will be responsible for interacting with the client, contractors, and site personnel in Wilton, Connecticut. Your job includes designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team. You will also oversee engineering and construction for the facility mechanical systems work including HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, general and acid/ammonia exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, process-piping and equipment. The work will include retrofits of existing building systems, as well as new systems.
Primary duties include the following:
Establish and develop scope documents, client specifications and standards, and design requirements to produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure mechanical systems.
Technical engineering responsibilities include code assessments/interpretation, HAZOP reviews, scope development, design and oversight for piping and ducting for equipment heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals and gasses in some of the most complex, densely packed industrial facilities on the planet. The design may include retrofit of existing building systems including engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification, and support during construction and integration into the factory.
As the mechanical representative on a multi-discipline design team, your primary duty will be to understand site systems in question for upgrades while collaborating with trades, system/area owners and the client. This includes understanding of P&IDs, layout drawings, details, and equipment plans. Information gathering is key to provide design options for the client while considering cost, schedule and scope - includes running stakeholder meetings that drive decisions and actions required.
