Data Migration Specialist

About the Role We are seeking a Data Migration Specialist to lead the migration of large, legacy Oracle databases to cloud-based platforms. This role is responsible for designing and executing secure, scalable, and reliable data migration strategies while ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and minimal business disruption. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Oracle data structures, cloud migration tools, and large-scale data movement. Responsibilities Plan and execute end-to-end Oracle database migrations from legacy or on-premise platforms to the cloud. Design and implement migration strategies using tools such as: AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) Oracle RMAN and Data Pump Migrate schemas, data objects, and large datasets while maintaining data integrity and consistency. Configure and manage DMS components, including: Replication instances Migration endpoints Migration and validation tasks Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and post-migration testing. Collaborate with Oracle DBAs and infrastructure teams to address schema, permission, and configuration dependencies. Monitor migration execution, identify risks, and resolve issues during and after data transitions. Produce clear documentation covering migration approaches, dependencies, and outcomes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Proven experience delivering Oracle-to-cloud data migrations. Hands-on expertise with AWS DMS or similar data migration tools. Experience migrating large-scale databases (terabyte-level or larger). Strong understanding of Oracle schemas, data modeling, and database structures. Ability to design migration strategies that minimize downtime and ensure data accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS services such as RDS, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch. Familiarity with post-migration performance optimization. Working knowledge of Java (8-17) and Spring Boot. Experience with Python or scripting for migration automation and validation. Prior involvement in enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
