Cable/DOCSIS Architect

Location: Remote (Client located in Denver)
Duration: 6+ months 
 
 
Job Requirements: 
  • 8+ years software development, 5+ in network/device provisioning.
  • Overall 12-15 years of experience 
  • Java, Python, Rust, or C/C++.
  • 3+ years DOCSIS (CMTS, modem configs); plus DPoE and PON.
  • Deep protocol knowledge: DHCP, TFTP, SNMP, TR-069/TR-369 (CWMP/USP); IPv6/DHCPv6 dual-stack.
  • Complex workflow orchestration in Camunda; micro-service orchestration.
  • Broadband and Voice OSS; CPE provisioning, activation, firmware management.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design control plane software for DOCSIS/Fiber: DHCP, TFTP config delivery, TR-069/TR-369 management, firmware orchestration.
  • Integrate control plane with CMTS/OLT and DOCSIS/DPoE modem configs.
  • Build REST/SOAP API layers fronting DHCP, datastore, and TFTP across footprints.
  • Design device-activation workflow orchestration (BPMN/Camunda).
  • Provide architectural oversight across L-Spectrum and L-Cox delivery and business teams.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize DHCP, TFTP, and TR-069 workflows.

 

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)
  1. Must have 15+ years of overall experience ( No junior candidates accepted )
  2. 8+ years of Software Development experience
  3. 5+ years in Network / Device Provisioning
  4. Hands-on development experience in:
    • Java, Python, Rust, or C/C++
  5. Strong Cable Broadband domain expertise:
    • DOCSIS
    • CMTS
    • Cable Modem Configuration
    • DPoE
    • PON
  6. Deep knowledge of:
    • DHCP / DHCPv6
    • TFTP
    • SNMP
    • TR-069 (CWMP)
    • TR-369 (USP)
    • IPv6 & Dual Stack Networks
  7. OSS/BSS and CPE Provisioning experience
  8. Camunda workflow orchestration and BPMN design
  9. Microservices architecture experience
  10. Experience working with broadband device activation, provisioning, firmware management, and orchestration platforms
Preferred Experience
  • Ex-Charter, Cox, Comcast, Spectrum, Rogers, Shaw, Liberty Global, Vodafone Cable, or other Cable MSO experience.
  • DOCSIS control plane architecture.
  • Broadband Voice OSS.
  • CMTS / OLT integrations.
  • Device activation workflows.
  • REST and SOAP API architecture.
