Job Description
Under general supervision from peers and management, this position is responsible for providing prompt and courteous service to users as they call the Help Desk for technical assistance, supporting IS analysts in applications and operations, and software management, installation, and inventory.
Focus is on improving the effective utilization of information technology and systems through knowledgeable guidance, problem determination, and resolution within clients IT infrastructure and applications.
This position has limited knowledge of processes and is in the development role pertaining to this scope.
Principal Accountabilities
The Contractor is to provide a named industrial safety specialist for support to EN during the Columbia Generating Station (CGS) refueling outage. The specialist will work under the technical direction of the Contract Technical Representative in accordance with this specific work release.
The period of performance dates are listed above. These dates are subject to change as directed by the Contract Technical Representative.
The Contractor will provide industrial safety specialist support to EN at the Columbia Generating Station, as requested. The specialist will work under the technical direction of the Contract Technical Representative, with support as outlined below:
- Conduct safety and industrial hygiene inspections and audits to assure compliance with policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
- Minimizing Clients liability by monitoring and enforcing compliance with safety requirements and Washington State regulations as it applies to a contractor, subcontractor, or its employees.
- Review and become knowledgeable of the prime and general contractors liability as identified in the Department of Labor & Industries WISHA Regional Directive (WRD) 27.
Skills and Experience
Required basic knowledge of:
- Client/server infrastructure
- Computer/help desk support
- Local area network and desktop computer architectures
- Thorough understanding of required duties of a computer support field environment
Additional requirements:
- Obtain and maintain unescorted access to Columbia Generating Station.
- Work independently and as a part of a team.
- Competently apply computer knowledge.
- Understand and follow written and oral procedures.
- Communicate orally with customers and vendors for problem solving and troubleshooting of computer problems.
- Communicate fluently via written methods, including software documentation, systems presentations, procedure writing, and other advanced written communication methods.
Required Education and Experience
- An AA degree in computer related field; OR
- Unrelated AA plus one year experience; OR
- In lieu of degree, a High School diploma plus three years of experience.
- Experience needs to be directly related to Information Systems/Help Desk.
- High school diploma or GED required.
