Project Overview
A large public-sector organization is undertaking multiple modernization initiatives aligned with Fiscal Year 2027 objectives (beginning July 1, 2026). These initiatives include:
Implementing a comprehensive data retention and archival policy
Resolving duplicate data issues across enterprise systems
Enhancing configuration management practices
Supporting the transition from an on-premises CRM platform to a cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment
To support these efforts, a Data Architect Consultant is required to ensure scalability, regulatory compliance, operational continuity, and cost optimization particularly related to data storage and governance.
This role will operate across multiple interconnected initiatives tied to CRM and related database systems, ensuring consistent application of data architecture, governance, and integration strategies. The consultant will help maintain a unified architectural vision that supports both near-term project delivery and long-term modernization goals.
Objectives
The Data Architect will:
Provide strategic architectural guidance across CRM and associated database platforms in alignment with modernization initiatives
Design and implement data retention and archival strategies to ensure compliance and reduce storage costs
Architect solutions to address duplicate data across enterprise systems using master data management principles
Support improvements to configuration management by aligning data governance with CRM and infrastructure needs
Deliver comprehensive documentation and conduct knowledge transfer to ensure long-term sustainability
Role Responsibilities
The consultant will join a technical team responsible for enterprise data strategy and architecture. Key responsibilities include:
Designing and maintaining enterprise data models and metadata frameworks
Developing archival and retention architectures for CRM and related enterprise systems
Collaborating with CRM, infrastructure, and application teams to align governance and configuration standards
Leading data deduplication and master data management initiatives
Producing technical documentation, standards, and architectural artifacts
Conducting knowledge transfer sessions with internal staff
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in enterprise data architecture, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics CRM and related database ecosystems. Final selection will be based on interviews and demonstrated technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data governance, and metadata management
Proven success designing and implementing data retention and archival strategies for large-scale systems
Strong understanding of CRM data structures and integration with external systems
Experience with master data management (MDM) and data deduplication strategies
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to support cross-functional collaboration
