Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is part of the Business Financial Office Technology team, implementing innovative tech-based solutions to improve Sub-ledger processes. The Software Engineer will work on the FinMan sub-ledger system, developing enhancements and architectural improvements using C#, PL/SQL, Linux, Python, and Oracle 19c in a dynamic, agile environment supporting operational excellence.
Responsibilities: - Develop enhancements to existing functionality and architectural improvements to the system
- Periodically troubleshoot and support system components
- Work collaboratively with development teams in Finance Technology to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Work closely with the Product Owner and business analysts to deliver stories and gain sign-off
- Contribute to application design, regression test automation, and other efficiency initiatives
- Actively participate in all agile ceremonies
Requirements: - Excellent knowledge of Oracle 12c or above with strong experience coding PL/SQL procedures and functions/packages
- Good object-oriented design skills, knowledge of patterns, and architectural understanding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven global team interaction
- Willingness to learn, adopt, and advance team best practices, procedures, and quality standards
- Willingness to own issues and see them through to completion, communicating effectively and in a timely manner
- Strong team communication, with experience sharing and presenting new ideas and approaches
- SQL performance tuning experience
Desired skills: - Commercial experience with Python
- UNIX or Linux experience
- Microsoft Visual Studio C# .net experience, particularly with Windows applications
- GIT/Bitbucket
- Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies and associated tools
- Investment banking experience, with front or back-office team experience
- A working knowledge of accounting with experience of corporate GL structures and flows
- Experience with automated test tools
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
