Summary

Senior Scrum Master V (SAP S/4HANA & Hybrid Agile Transformation)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Senior Scrum Master V to support the agile delivery of a multi-year SAP S/4HANA digital transformation program. In this role, you will act as a servant leader for cross-functional Agile teams spanning SAP functional modules, technical development, and business operations, modernizing core enterprise systems across finance, supply chain, HR, and safety.

This is a critical delivery role for a professional who excels at bridging modern Agile practices with structured PMO governance and traditional waterfall-driven workstreams. You will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, manage complex cross-system dependencies, coordinate with system integrator partners, and foster an environment of continuous improvement and predictable value delivery. If you possess deep expertise in scaled Agile delivery and enterprise ERP implementations, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Scrum Mastery & Agile Facilitation
Ceremony Facilitation: Act as a dedicated servant leader for 1-2 cross-functional Agile teams, facilitating all core Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives).
Backlog Management: Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and System Integrator partners to maintain a clean, well-groomed, and prioritized product backlog.
Refinement & Sizing: Facilitate user story refinement and sizing sessions covering functional features, technical tasks, and complex SAP customizations.
Continuous Improvement: Cultivate a transparent team culture focused on empirical process control, high team health, and continuous delivery improvement.

Hybrid Governance & Enterprise Scaling
Hybrid Integration: Navigate the operational tension between Agile team delivery and traditional PMO structures (stage gates, formal deliverables, RAID logs); support integration with waterfall-driven workstreams such as data migration, testing, and cutover.
Scaled Collaboration: Participate in scaled Agile ceremonies (e.g., PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos); interface with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Solution Architects, and peer Scrum Masters.
Dependency & Risk Tracking: Identify, coordinate, and mitigate cross-team dependencies, blockers, and technical risks across various SAP streams and legacy systems.
Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and report on Agile delivery metrics, team velocity, sprint burn-down charts, and release readiness dashboards using tools like Jira and Confluence.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical work experience).
Experience Baseline: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience operating as a Scrum Master in enterprise-scale Agile environments.
Domain & Technical Mastery:
oProven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations or major enterprise ERP platform transformations (e.g., SAP ECC, Oracle, Workday).
oComprehensive understanding of hybrid delivery models, blending Agile (Scrum, Kanban) with structured governance.
oFamiliarity with the SAP Activate methodology and traditional enterprise project lifecycles.
oHands-on experience within scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe) and managing complex multi-team dependencies.
oProficient toolset expertise in Jira, Confluence, and MS Project.
Core Competencies: Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional communication abilities.

Preferred Attributes
Professional Scrum Master certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM, SAFe Agilist / Scrum Master).
Prior experience working within utility, energy, or highly regulated enterprise environments undergoing large-scale ERP modernizations.
