Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Rate: $ DOE

Overview

We are seeking an experienced .NET Designer / Technical Lead to lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in .NET Core, C#, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot and Generative AI technologies. This role requires a blend of technical leadership, architectural vision, and hands-on development expertise.


Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

  • Define end-to-end architecture for enterprise-grade applications using .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core).
  • Design and implement microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Establish architecture standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools aligned with business goals.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical specifications.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead development teams through design, implementation, and deployment phases.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce software quality standards.
  • Mentor developers and promote a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Drive technical decisions and resolve complex design and architectural challenges.

Development & Delivery

  • Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and web applications.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and system bottlenecks.
  • Leverage GitHub Copilot and explore Generative AI capabilities to improve development efficiency and innovation.

Cloud & DevOps

  • Architect and implement solutions on Azure (preferred) or AWS.
  • Develop cloud-native applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Promote infrastructure automation and deployment best practices.

Quality & Governance

  • Ensure application security, compliance, and data privacy standards.
  • Promote unit testing, integration testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Maintain comprehensive architecture and technical documentation.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability practices.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+, C#, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Expertise in RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
  • Experience with SQL Server and NoSQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, etc.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Knowledge of message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) concepts, tools, or integrations.

Leadership Skills

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to balance hands-on development with strategic leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Exposure to Event-Driven Architecture and CQRS patterns.
  • Experience building high-volume, low-latency systems.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Application Insights or Splunk.
  • Relevant Azure or Cloud Architecture certifications.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as Financial Services or Healthcare.

Experience

  • 8–12+ years of overall software development experience.
  • 3–5+ years in a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or similar leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale applications and cloud-native solutions.
