Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Ultra-Low Latency Network Specialist to maintain the stability and performance of a global trading colocation network spanning over 30 data centers across AMER, EMEA, and APAC. This role is key to supporting ultra-low latency trading operations through exceptional network design, optimization, and troubleshooting. You''ll work closely with trading system developers to ensure a robust, high-speed infrastructure that underpins global financial markets activity.
Responsibilities:
Architect, engineer, and deploy ultra-low latency network infrastructure within global colocation data centers.
Oversee installation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of network and security hardware and software.
Serve as the L3 escalation point for performance and availability issues in the colocation network.
Maintain operational control and performance reporting to continually optimize trading infrastructure.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and monitoring systems.
Collaborate with developers and trading technology teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Drive network automation and efficiency improvements through scripting and innovative solutions.
Occasional travel required to global data centers for hands-on deployment and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
Bachelor''s degree in computer science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline.
CCIE Routing & Switching (Enterprise Infrastructure) certification including lab.
Minimum 8 years of network engineering and project delivery experience.
Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC, GRE, PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP).
Expertise with Arista and Cisco network hardware/software and low-latency designs.
Experience with L1 network design and FPGA-based applications.
Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation.
Strong understanding of market protocols: FIX, BOE, OUCH/ITCH, PILLAR, SBE, OMEX.
Skilled in packet capture and decoding tools for network monitoring.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
