ECS is seeking an Automated Test Engineer/Software Development Engineer in Test in our Quantico, VA office.

Are you ready to play a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge technology for federal law enforcement and scientific organizations? ECS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Test Engineer to provide IT services and support for hardware, IT systems, applications, and operational technologies that support mission critical operations in support of our DOJ FBI Client. The scope of this program is to enhance enterprise IT services and solutions to this FBI component to provide best-in-class end-user support and drive improvements in the operations, management, maintenance and integration of services across multiple networks, systems, and applications to enable and enhance mission operations for law enforcement capabilities.

In this role, you will be working at the intersection of traditional IT and specialized scientific and operational technology systems to ensure functionality, performance, availability, responsiveness of supported IT systems and services. The Automation Test Engineer is responsible for leading and conducting test activities, leading the transition from a manual testing focus to one of automated testing. This position requires an exceptional candidate with advanced quality assurance and software testing experience. We use an Agile Scrum methodology and focus on collaboration with our customers. This is an amazing opportunity to transition a team to a more technically advanced automated testing solution.

Lead the design and implementation of test automation frameworks.

Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.

Coordinate with stakeholders and technical teams to identify automation needs.

Review and analyze test automation results to ensure software quality.

Mentor and train junior test engineers on automation best practices.

Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Monitor and improve the efficiency of test automation processes.

Perform testing activities to ensure proper tracking and completion each Sprint and overall release .

Write and revise test-related management plans and formal test Procedures .

Perform functional, exploratory, system, regression, and performance testing .

Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.

Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in testing processes.

Required Skills

ship with active Top Secret clearance.

Minimum of 8 years' experience, or equivalent certifications demonstrating ability to perform at this level.

Proven experience in software test automation.

Leadership experience in a testing or QA role.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycles.

Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Excellent understanding and experience of test automation frameworks, regression, system, functional and performance testing.

Exceptional collaborative communication skills.

Desired Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience with Agile Development / Scrum framework

Understanding of test-driven development and/or behavior driven development

Familiarity with Jira
