About the Position:

Our long-term partnership with NASA has created an exciting opportunity for a GN&C Engineer supporting the JETS II contract at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This position is on site at JSC.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and evaluate safety-critical flight software
  • Utilize Matlab/Simulink/Autocode skills to update Orion GN&C Flight Software
  • Utilize Python & C/C++ skills to analyze and test Orion GN&C Flight Software
  • Further develop flight software processes and procedures
  • Perform deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:
  • Significant experience with MATLAB including Simulink, Stateflow, and Autocode
  • Proficiency with C/C++ and Python - Significant knowledge of GN&C
  • Experience in the following flight software specialty areas:- GN&C software development - Software process and procedure development - Software Integration and Build Management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Significant experience with C, C++, and Python
  • Experience with TRICK/JEOD simulation architecture
  • Safety and flight-critical embedded software development
  • Object-oriented software development
  • Knowledgeable in source code control
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale aerospace or complex engineering programs.
  • Ability to analyze and fix issues in other engineers' code.
  • Experience supporting testing and verification activities.

Requisition Preferences:
  • Experience supporting NASA programs.
  • Experience in high-reliability or human-rated flight systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues quickly.
  • Strong analytical mindset.
  • Comfortable digging into legacy or unfamiliar code.
  • Works effectively in large, collaborative technical teams.
  • Ensures continuous integration pipelines remain stable and successful.
