Sr. SQL DBA / SQL Server DBA
Primary Location: Miramar, FL (Onsite MondayThursday)
V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Sr. SQL DBA / SQL Server DBA for our premier client in Miramar, FL (Onsite MondayThursday).
Senior Database Administrator will support SQL Server platforms from architecture through production, including design, tuning, replication, backups, security, monitoring, and cloud database operations. You will partner with business units, offshore teams, developers, and infrastructure teams across a global environment.
Education and Experience
10+ years of SQL Server DBA experience (AlwaysOn, High Availability)
2Bachelors or Masters in CS, IT, Math, or equivalent
38+ years of Database Administration experience
4Experience in global, cross-functional teams preferred
5Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server DBA) are a plus
6Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
SQL DBA responsibilities with AWS exposure (CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk, RDS)
Support both production and project workloads
Database versions: SQL Server 20162022
High availability environments (AlwaysOn, replication)
Large-scale clusters (24 TB), over 600 databases
Offshore team handles 24/7 support; escalations to onshore as needed
Work across business units, assisting with deployments, sizing, versioning, and architecture
Manage and monitor backups, DR plans, and operational health
No regular on-call rotation; escalations only
Cloud experience (AWS strongly preferred)
Advanced performance tuning (stored procedures, clustering, backups/recovery, etc.)
Nice-to-Have Skills
AI experience to improve automation or operational efficiencies
