Job Description:
Sr. Robotics Lab Technician
Role Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented, hands-on Sr. Robotics Lab Technicians to support the buildout, operation, and maintenance of a large-scale robotics lab environment. This role combines hardware setup, technical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and lab operations support in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Technicians will play a critical role in bringing new lab infrastructure online and ensuring systems remain reliable, organized, and operational at scale. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, highly organized, comfortable working with tools and hardware systems, and motivated to learn in a cutting-edge robotics environment.

Robotics experience is helpful but not required. Candidates with strong technical aptitude, experience working with hardware systems, and a high attention to detail are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Lab Buildout & Infrastructure
  • Assemble, install, and configure lab equipment and test stations, including benches, robotic systems, cameras, peripherals, and supporting hardware
  • Route, organize, and label cables according to documented standards and best practices
  • Support station bring-up activities, including hardware setup, connectivity checks, and basic functional validation
  • Assist with infrastructure expansion, equipment moves, and lab reconfiguration projects
  • Maintain organized tools, parts inventory, and workspace layouts to support efficient lab operations
  • Update build logs, tracking systems, and checklists to ensure accurate documentation and traceability
Lab Operations & Maintenance
  • Perform routine inspections to identify wear, loose connections, damaged components, or system inconsistencies before failures occur
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and infrastructure issues, escalating more complex problems when necessary
  • Replace and repair components such as cables, fixtures, brackets, sensors, peripherals, and other hardware under established procedures
  • Maintain operational readiness of workcells and stations, including resets, consumable restocking, and minor hardware adjustments
  • Support equipment uptime and reliability through proactive maintenance and rapid issue response
  • Assist with basic software, device configuration, and connectivity troubleshooting as needed
  • Follow all lab safety procedures, equipment-handling requirements, and lock-out/tag-out protocols
  • Document maintenance, repairs, and changes for operational tracking and traceability
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Hands-on experience using common hand tools and basic power tools (screwdrivers, hex keys, torque drivers, drills, etc.)
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures, technical instructions, and standardized workflows accurately
  • Comfort working around electromechanical systems, including sensors, wiring, power supplies, robotics hardware, and moving equipment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage responsibilities with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced technical environment with changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in robotics, automation, hardware labs, manufacturing, test engineering, data center operations, or similar technical environments
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, or technical documentation
  • Experience with PC hardware, USB devices, cameras, networking equipment, or peripherals
  • Basic familiarity with Linux, command-line tools, device configuration, or software setup workflows
  • Experience using test equipment, measurement tools, or diagnostic equipment
  • Exposure to robotics systems, electromechanical assemblies, or automated equipment
  • Experience supporting lab operations, prototype builds, or engineering teams
  • Ability to follow basic scripting, software installation, or troubleshooting procedures is a plus
Work Environment

This role is performed in a hands-on lab environment supporting advanced hardware and robotics systems. The position may require standing, moving equipment, using tools, handling cables and hardware components, and working around active electromechanical systems.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly collaborative technical environment where attention to detail, safety, organization, and operational discipline are critical to success.
