Position Summary: The Senior Master Data Management (MDM) Solution Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for driving the design, implementation, and delivery of Penske's enterprise Master Data Management capability. You will work closely with the business and design Master Data Governance operating model including policies, standards, and stewardship structures. This role combines strategic architecture leadership with hands-on technical execution to establish foundational data infrastructure that will serve as the organization's single source of truth for critical master data domains including Location, Vehicle, and Customer.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this architect will lead the end-to-end MDM program-from platform evaluation and architecture design through hands-on configuration, integration development, and production deployment. The Senior MDM Solution Architect will partner directly with IT and business leadership to iteratively provide business value in short time frames while building lasting organizational data management capability.
Major Responsibilities: - Conduct MDM discovery and design enterprise architecture including master data domains, entity models, data flows, and integration patterns for global operations
- Lead MDM platform evaluation and selection through RFPs and proof-of-concepts; present recommendations to executive leadership for platform investment decision
- Install, configure, and implement MDM platform with hands-on configuration of Location, Vehicle, and Customer domains
- Build data quality frameworks including matching algorithms, merging rules, survivorship logic, and validation rules ensuring 90%+ data quality
- Design and develop integrations between MDM hub and 5-7 critical enterprise systems using ETL/ELT tools, APIs, and messaging platforms
- Enable business data stewards for each domain; define data quality KPIs and monitoring dashboards
- Develop and deliver training programs for end users on MDM concepts, platform usage, and governance processes
- Create documentation library including architecture specifications, technical guides, and operational runbooks; provide mentorship to IT teams

Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required; Master's Degree and certifications (CDMP, TOGAF, MDM platforms, Cloud, PMP) preferred
- 10-12 years architecting complex enterprise solutions required; 5+ years MDM specialization with 2-3 complete implementations from discovery to production in organizations with 10,000+ employees
- Deep hands-on expertise with major MDM platforms (Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, Profisee, Reltio, or Semarchy) including personal configuration experience with domains, matching rules, and survivorship logic
- Expert in MDM architecture patterns and data modeling for master data domains; advanced knowledge of entity-relationship design, hierarchical structures, and complex relationships
- Strong data quality management skills including matching algorithms (deterministic and probabilistic), survivorship rules, data profiling, validation, standardization, and continuous improvement
- Comprehensive data integration expertise with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS), APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), integration platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi), messaging systems (Kafka, MQ), and legacy system integration
- Data governance framework knowledge (DAMA DMBOK, DCAM) with experience in stewardship models, policy development, metadata management, and data lineage
- Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), advanced SQL, enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), data warehousing, and DevOps practices; scripting in Python, Java, or PowerShell
- Strong security and compliance understanding including data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA), encryption, and access control design
- Exceptional executive communication with ability to present to C-suite, translate technical concepts to business value, and influence stakeholders across IT and business units
- Strategic leadership with high autonomy; sets architectural direction, proactively identifies risks, and drives alignment across initiatives
- Advanced facilitation and problem-solving abilities; leads workshops and governance meetings, analyzes complex data challenges, and balances tactical delivery with strategic vision
- Mentorship capabilities with track record of building organizational capability;
