You Are:

As a Mainframe Modernization Architect, you will play a critical role in helping enterprise clients transform their legacy mainframe environments into modern, cloud-native architectures. You will leverage your deep expertise in mainframe technologies and modernization strategies to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on leading cloud platforms. This position requires strong technical leadership, hands-on experience with mainframe systems, and a passion for driving innovation through cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Architecture & Design:

Define target-state architectures for migrating mainframe workloads using approaches such as replatforming, refactoring, and re-architecting.

Create modernization roadmaps and reference architectures aligned with client business objectives.

Design hybrid solutions integrating mainframe systems with distributed and cloud-native environments.

2. Client Engagement & Advisory:

Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, guiding them through modernization strategies and cloud best practices.

Conduct assessments of legacy systems and recommend optimal migration patterns (e.g., Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Replace).

Lead technical workshops, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and migration readiness assessments.

3. Implementation Leadership:

Collaborate with professional services teams, partners, and client teams to deliver end-to-end modernization projects.

Establish CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks for modernized applications.

Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements throughout the migration process.

4. Risk & Performance Management:

Identify and mitigate risks associated with large-scale mainframe migrations.

Optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency using cloud-native services and architectures.

5. Thought Leadership & Knowledge Sharing:

Develop reusable technical assets, whitepapers, and best-practice guides.

Mentor teams and contribute to community events, blogs, and technical forums.

Travel may be required for role. Travel is 0-100% depending on client requirements.

Here's What You Need:

  • A minimum of 10 years years of hands-on experience with AWS Solutions, Cloud Migration, Application Modernization and/or Data & AI transformation programs covering both functional and technical aspects
  • Professional-level AWS Cloud Architecture certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with modernization tools such as Blu Age, Micro Focus, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless architectures.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with core mainframe technologies, including TSO, CICS, batch processing, and associated mainframe platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. If Associates degree, 6 years of work experience.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
