Director of IT Governance
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)
Reports To: VP of Information Technology
Position Summary
The Director of IT Governance plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the organization s IT environment operates with the highest levels of compliance, financial discipline, and operational integrity. This role owns the IT governance framework, drives audit readiness, oversees IT financial management, and ensures adherence to military and government regulatory requirements. The Director will lead a high-performing governance team while partnering closely with IT and business leadership to support strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Lead and continuously improve the IT governance framework to align technology initiatives with business priorities.
- Ensure compliance with Military SAP standards, ITAR, CMMC, SOX, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain audit readiness, including internal controls, segregation of duties (SOD), and documentation standards.
- Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audits.
Financial & Budget Management
- Own development and execution of IT operating and capital budgets.
- Track and report IT financial performance, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability.
- Partner with IT leadership to optimize spend while supporting strategic initiatives.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT governance professionals.
- Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans for team members.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement culture.
- Build strong working relationships across IT and business functions.
Risk, Quality & Performance
- Implement performance management frameworks and governance metrics.
- Oversee IT quality assurance programs, risk management activities, and security controls.
- Proactively identify and mitigate governance, compliance, and operational risks.
Military SAP Compliance
- Ensure SAP environments meet military compliance standards, including data segregation and secure hosting requirements.
- Partner with SAP and infrastructure teams to validate monthly compliance status.
- Maintain accurate documentation to support audit and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with emphasis on governance, compliance, and financial management.
- Deep experience in SAP environments, including Military SAP compliance.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as ITAR, SOX, HIPAA, and HITRUST.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or modern ERP platforms.
- Hands-on involvement in IT audits and risk management frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational change.
