Location: 100% Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer / Data Scientist to build next-generation AI and machine learning solutions for healthcare-focused applications. This role involves developing predictive models, leveraging Generative AI technologies, and building scalable data science solutions using Python and Databricks. The ideal candidate has strong experience across the complete ML lifecycle, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and modern LLM-based architectures.

Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions using Python, Databricks, and MLflow.
* Build predictive machine learning models for classification, forecasting, and risk modeling.
* Develop NLP solutions for extracting insights from structured and unstructured data.
* Create and optimize Generative AI applications using prompt engineering techniques.
* Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embedding-based search, vector databases, and context-aware AI workflows.
* Build explainable AI models to improve transparency and model interpretability.
* Perform data acquisition, cleansing, feature engineering, exploratory analysis, and model evaluation.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
* Develop reusable Python libraries, utilities, and data science packages.
* Optimize data processing pipelines using PySpark and Databricks.
* Maintain model versioning, experiment tracking, and reproducible workflows using MLflow.
* Collaborate using Git, pull requests, and code review best practices.
* Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile development processes.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience developing Machine Learning and AI solutions.
* Strong programming skills in Pytho, including Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and scikit-learn.
* Hands-on experience with Databricks and MLflow.
* Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms.
* Experience working with large-scale distributed datasets.
* Strong background in statistical modeling and data analysis.
* Experience developing NLP solutions, including Named Entity Recognition (NER).
* Experience with SQL and complex data transformation.
* Strong understanding of prompt engineering techniques and LLM optimization.
* Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval.
* Experience using Git in collaborative software development environments.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or similar tools.
* Hands-on experience building AI Agents or Agentic AI workflows.
* Experience with vector databases and modern LLM frameworks.
* Knowledge of knowledge graphs, semantic search, or ontology-based systems.
* Experience with healthcare, life sciences, biomedical, or clinical datasets.
* Familiarity with radiology, pathology, EMR, or healthcare analytics is a plus.
