About the Role

The Currency Transaction Reporting (CTR) Technology team develops and supports critical applications that enable Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and regulatory reporting capabilities for the Risk organization.

As a Software Engineer, Full Stack Java, you will be a key contributor to a portfolio of five applications and supporting services that enable customer, transaction, reporting, and integration capabilities across the CTR ecosystem.

You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and React, while contributing to the modernization and consolidation of existing applications. This role is well suited for an experienced engineer who combines strong back-end Java expertise with hands-on front-end development skills and is comfortable learning new technologies in a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and enhance modern user interfaces using React.
• Build and maintain microservices, REST APIs, application integrations, and data-processing solutions.
• Support the modernization and consolidation of a five-application CTR ecosystem into a more streamlined platform.
• Help stabilize, enhance, and improve the performance and maintainability of existing front-end applications.
• Develop and support data pipelines and processing capabilities using Python and related technologies.
• Partner with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, operational resiliency, application performance, and code quality.
• Reduce technical debt through refactoring, modernization, automation, and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated development and deployment practices.
• Support cloud modernization efforts, including solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Use modern development and AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot, where appropriate.
• Collaborate effectively across engineering teams while sharing knowledge and quickly learning new technologies and business domains.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience using Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing modern web applications using React or Angular, with strong React experience highly preferred.
• 2+ years of Python development experience.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience working across both front-end and back-end components of enterprise applications.
• Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing production applications.
• Understanding of software engineering practices including source control, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and production support.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and business domains quickly.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Irving, TX or Chandler, AZ.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or Kubernetes.
• Experience developing data pipelines using Python and Apache Spark.
• Experience modernizing or consolidating legacy and distributed applications.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Experience supporting highly available, regulated, or business-critical applications.
• Familiarity with AML, regulatory reporting, financial crimes, or transaction-monitoring systems is beneficial but not required.

What You'll Work On

The CTR technology portfolio consists of five applications supporting regulatory reporting of qualifying and aggregated currency transactions, including transactions associated with applicable reporting thresholds.

The engineering team is focused on several key initiatives:

• Maintaining and enhancing existing production applications.
• Consolidating multiple applications into a more unified platform.
• Stabilizing and modernizing the React front end.
• Strengthening Java and Spring Boot services.
• Expanding the team's Google Cloud Platform capabilities.
• Building and supporting data-processing pipelines with Python and Spark.
• Improving automation, CI/CD, application reliability, and engineering efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a senior-level engineer who is technically strong, collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working across the full technology stack.

The ideal candidate brings deep Java/Spring Boot expertise combined with meaningful React experience. You should be comfortable joining an established application environment, understanding existing code quickly, solving complex problems, and helping evolve the platform through both incremental improvements and strategic modernization.

Prior financial services experience is not required. The ability and willingness to learn the business domain quickly is more important.
