Role: ServiceNow Business Process Consultant / ServiceNow ITOM Technical Consultant
Duration: 6+ months
Visa: Any independent candidate on W2
Working Time:- 20 hours / week – Candidate can be anywhere in the USA
The role
The ServiceNow ITOM Technical Consultant provides product recommendations and configurations, technical expertise for integrations, develops and codes sound technical solutions for IT Operations Management solutions. , ensures proactive communication to clients and internal staff, and manages enhancement requirements for the ServiceNow platform.
How will you make an impact?
- Design, configure, and deployment of ServiceNow ITOM modules leveraging industry best practices and standards to maintain a healthy CMDB.
- Provide technical and thought leadership in both system integration and application development, while also promoting best practices in these areas
- Contribute to the technical direction, recommend, and design the solution to leverage the ServiceNow best practices and out of the box functionality
- Contribute to internal artifacts and deliverables to ensure they meet solution requirements
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications and documents, system documentation, and end user manuals
- Troubleshoot production and test issues; perform root cause analysis, recommend corrective action, and perform resolution efforts
- Assist teams with associated technical and process activities
- Maintain instance integrity & security based on ServiceNow best practices
- Provide functional expertise as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all application suites respective to their product line.
- Contribute to the sizing and scoping of product line projects
What we need to see from you
- Bachelor''s degree in an IT related discipline, OR minimum (5) years of equivalent/relevant job experience
- Experience with JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, REST, SOAP, as well as XML and JSON
- Infrastructure knowledge related to operating systems (Windows, Linux) along with networking concepts such as IP addressing, firewalls, and common ports
- Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to define requirements and performance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understands Discovery scheduling and potential network impacts
- Experience with implementing Discovery can relay best practices to clients regarding configuration vs customization
- Configuration Item blueprint experience to drive CMDB health dashboard configuration, including completeness, duplicate, and state CI metrics
- Understands CMDB relationships and hierarchy, with fundamental knowledge of ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
- Understanding of the Identification and Reconciliation engine (IRE)
- Understanding of platform security and integration best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on customer service, including experience handling challenging situations and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work as a trusted contributor on individual assignments as well as in a team environment and on client-developed teams
- Extremely organized with a high level of attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and grow
