Summary

The Operational Technology (OT) Technical Services Specialist is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and security of the Company OT systems, primarily related to Intelligent Transportation Systems and Toll Collection Systems. This role serves as a technical bridge between IT and OT environments, supporting SCADA, PLC, and related industrial networking systems to ensure safe and highly available systems for the roadway. The ideal candidate combines hands-on industrial systems expertise with an understanding of cybersecurity best practices in critical infrastructure environments.

  • Install, configure, and maintain OT systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, DCS, RTUs, and industrial networking equipment (switches, firewalls, routers).
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for OT hardware, software, and network issues across production/facility environments, minimizing downtime.
  • Support the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of OT network architecture, including segmentation between IT and OT networks (e.g., Purdue Model implementation).
  • Implement and maintain OT cybersecurity controls, including patch management, endpoint protection, network monitoring, and access control for industrial systems.
  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, and plant operations teams to align OT initiatives with business and safety objectives.
  • Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery testing, and documentation of OT assets, configurations, and network diagrams.
  • Support vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and audits related to OT/ICS security compliance (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443, NERC CIP where applicable).
  • Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for system upgrades, technical support, and equipment lifecycle planning.
  • Participate in incident response for OT-related security events or system failures, including root cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and training materials for OT systems.
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support as needed for critical system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and industry standards during all OT-related work.
