Summary
Must Haves:
- 3–5 years HR experience preferred.
- Industry experience strongly preferred: Amazon, FedEx, UPS, or similar transportation/logistics environments.
- Looking for more of an administrative support profile than a heavy compliance person.
- Confirms Excel needs: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs helpful
- Monitor and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations, including wage and hour laws, time and attendance requirements, and mandated state sick leave programs.
- Support FLSA classification reviews and compliance assessments to ensure accurate designations.
- Assist with administration and compliance tracking related to background and substance screening programs and contract labor requirements.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for EEO, Affirmative Action, and Equal Employment compliance; help identify trends or areas requiring corrective action.
- Support oversight of union administration requirements, including CBA compliance, reporting, and data accuracy.
- Track regulatory changes affecting employment practices and communicate impacts to HR and business stakeholders.
- Conduct periodic audits of employment practices, HR processes, and data integrity to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Coordinate with Legal, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and other partners to resolve compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to compliance resources such as checklists, guides, and process documentation to improve consistency and risk mitigation.
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws (e.g. ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Title VII) and their application in employee relations and compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to document and present findings clearly and professionally.
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail in reviewing data, documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret regulations and policies and translate them into practical HR guidance.
- Experience with HRIS, compliance tracking tools, and audit documentation processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for producing clear reports and compliance summaries.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Progress towards HR certification (e.g. PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- 3-5 years of HR experience with direct involvement in employment regulations, compliance and HR Operations.
