We are seeking a
Lead Node.js Developer to build and evolve backend services supporting scalable web platforms and real-time communication features.
In this role, you will develop microservice-based solutions, implement AI integrations with third-party APIs, and contribute to system reliability across high-load SQL and NoSQL environments. You will work with Nest.js, messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and Redis, and automated testing practices to deliver maintainable, production-ready services.
This position is based in Poland. Candidates who meet the role requirements but are currently located in Georgia are considered, with relocation support provided by EPAM to facilitate the transition. Learn more about the benefits EPAM Poland provides in the description below.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an in-house web platform, ensuring scalability and reliability
- Apply microservice architecture principles in system design and implementation
- Create and manage REST, GraphQL, and WebSocket APIs
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, following TDD principles
- Utilize Git for version control and participate in code reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in web application development
- 5+ years of professional experience with Node.js and NestJS
- Extensive background in JavaScript and ECMAScript 6 standards
- Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture
- Familiarity with MongoDB and MySQL database systems
- Proven skills in managing high-load SQL and NoSQL databases
- Demonstrated expertise in creating REST, GraphQL, and WebSocket APIs
- Strong foundation in test-driven development and automated testing
- Proficiency in version control using Git
- Practical experience with RabbitMQ and Redis message brokers
- Competent English communication skills at an intermediate level (B1), both written and spoken
Nice to have
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration
- Familiarity with Kubernetes environment
- Knowledge of NATS messaging technology
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript
