Position Summary:
Our partner is a fast-growing, technology-driven manufacturing organization operating in a rapidly expanding Azure environment. As the company scales, its cloud footprint has grown faster than its structure. As the company scales, our partner is strengthening its platform engineering capabilities with a focus on automation, governance, and security maturity. As part of this initiative, the team is adding a Sr. Azure Platform Engineer will operate at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, identity, and policy enforcement. This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for someone who evaluates existing systems, identifies structural gaps, and implements scalable, automated solutions that reduce risk and operational friction. This individual will modernize infrastructure provisioning through Infrastructure as Code, implement self-service capabilities for development teams, automate user lifecycle workflows, and enforce guardrails using Azure Policy and RBAC. The goal is to create a secure, scalable, and efficient Azure environment that supports long-term growth.

Experience and Education:

BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience/field
6+ years in Azure infrastructure, solution architecture, or platform engineering environments
Proven ownership of production-grade Azure environments
Demonstrated implementation of Infrastructure as Code within live enterprise systems
Background designing or supporting self-service cloud provisioning models
Strong track record building user lifecycle automation for (onboarding/offboarding), HR/IT integrations, and process improvement
Work within hybrid cloud environments integrating on-prem and cloud systems

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Assess the current Azure and hybrid cloud environment to identify automation, governance, and architectural gaps
Design and implement repeatable Infrastructure as Code standards for scalable provisioning
Build self-service infrastructure capabilities aligned with platform engineering principles
Automate end-to-end user lifecycle workflows integrating HR, identity, and access systems
Architect and enforce RBAC structures and Azure Policy guardrails to prevent misconfiguration
Strengthen cloud security posture through structured identity and least-privilege access models
Reduce manual operational effort by implementing production-grade automation using PowerShell, Python, and RPA Platforms
Establish monitoring, logging, and audit controls to improve visibility and compliance
Partner with development, IT operations, and security teams to balance agility with governance
Troubleshoot and remediate infrastructure failures including access issues, misconfigurations, and resource sprawl
Provide technical guidance and elevate cloud automation maturity across the organization
