Position: Enterprise Data Architect with AI

Location: Remote, with travel required to Houston, TX and Chicago, IL once a month

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect with AI to design and lead enterprise-wide data and AI architecture initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data architecture, cloud platforms, data engineering, AI/ML, and modern data platforms.

• Architect modern data lakes, data warehouses, and lake house platforms.
• Integrate AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities into enterprise data platforms.
• Design solutions using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and AI services/APIs.
• Ensure data security, privacy, quality, governance, and compliance.
• Work with data engineering, AI/ML, application, security, and business teams.
• Evaluate and recommend data and AI technologies, tools, and platforms.
• Create architecture diagrams, HLDs, standards, and reference architectures.
• Drive modernization of legacy data platforms and migration to cloud.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Enterprise Data Architecture.
• Hands-on knowledge of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, ETL/ELT, and data integration.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform cloud data services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, and data engineering concepts.
• Experience with AI/ML and Generative AI architectures.
• Knowledge of LLMs, RAG, Vector Databases, embeddings, and AI APIs.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, metadata, and data quality.
• Excellent architecture, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or similar AI platforms.
• Experience designing enterprise GenAI solutions and AI-enabled data platforms.
• Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Fabric, MDM, and real-time data architecture.
• Relevant cloud or data architecture certifications.
