The Work

We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, hardening, and sustainment of secure mission systems across both CONUS and OCONUS environments.

This role requires strong technical expertise in systems engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure security, automation, and DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate will support secure architecture development, system accreditation activities, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and automation of security controls within CI/CD pipelines.

The Cyber Systems Engineer will work closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, customer representatives, security architects, program leadership, and operational users to ensure mission systems remain secure, resilient, and compliant.

Please note:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

This position is based out of King of Prussia, PA and is hybrid but required to work onsite 3 days a week.

This position requires the ability to travel up to 25%.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related STEM discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum 9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, information assurance or relevant experience
Experience securing Linux and/or Windows operating systems in enterprise or mission environments.
Experience with Automation tools specifically Ansible and familiarity with deployment automation
Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as the following and associated documentation: NIST SP 800-53 & NIST 800-171
Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tools.
Experience with scripting languages and automation tools
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher, as required).

Desired skills

Possess an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II (CISSP, CAP, etc.)
Experience supporting DoD weapon systems, aviation platforms, or classified mission systems.
Experience with Containerization technologies to include Kubernetes and Openshift
Experience with Virtualization platforms/hypervisors
Experience implementing container security and Kubernetes hardening.
Familiarity with SIEM Tools deployment and administration specifically ArcSight
Experience with Zero Trust architecture and cyber resiliency engineering.
Experience supporting environmental handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) & Air-gapped or disconnected systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in dynamic mission environments.
Ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,200 - $225,975. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
