Primary Function of Position
This position focuses on building advanced manufacturing hardware, maintaining current production assets, optimizing global line transfers, and keeping lab environments agile to maximize assembly throughput. Based at the Sunnyvale, CA manufacturing site, the ideal candidate will contribute their hands-on skills and attention to detail to a dynamic equipment and automation team that supports the design and assembly of automated equipment for next-generation medical device manufacturing processes.

Essential Job Duties
Procure, assemble, and test new equipment, including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic component assembly and integration, to fulfill validation and manufacturing requirements.
Physically manage receipt and storage of materials as they arrive
Work with engineering to support documentation of equipment including assembly drawing, test protocol, and manufacturing methods.
Create and release ECOs for minor updates.
Document test results using paper and electronic means (Word, Excel, SAP)
Assist with lab organization (5S) and coordinating efficient material transfer flow between planning and equipment engineers to support build timelines.
Coordinating execution of equipment shipments between US and international sites (e.g. crating and labeling)
Conduct basic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment issues and provide relevant line support (e.g. equipment adjustment and repair).
Required Skills and Experience
Experience in planning, ordering, assembling, validating, and supporting manufacturing equipment
Hands-on with proven ability to work well in a team environment
Mechanical/electrical assembly aptitude; Soldering experience a plus
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Good communication and documentation skills. Ability to document data in a clear and organized method
Attention to details with focus on quality
Good time management skills
Ability to review Manufacturing Process Instructions / drawings and provide engineers with redlines/feedback
Ability to perform initial troubleshooting of equipment
Required Education and Training
Minimum High school diploma or equivalent. AA or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school a plus.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in medical device field with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar QMS
Experience with 5S and lab organization
Experience coordinating with Preventative Maintenance and Calibration team for equipment maintenance, calibration, and implementation in Production
Experience with ERP/Document Control systems
Experience with crating/shipping internationally
Experience with V&V or TMV protocol execution
Experience with CAD (Solidworks, AutoCAD electrical)
