Job DescriptionYou will be the Thermodynamics Engineering Associate Manager for the Thermodynamics team which is responsible for advancing thermal solutions that enable next-generation aircraft performance.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Thermodynamics Engineering Associate Manager you will be responsible for steering a high-impact Flight Sciences functional team, shaping technical direction, and delivering thermal expertise across critical programs. You will partner with senior leaders, guide innovative solutions, and mentor a talented workforce.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Define and standardize Flight Sciences work practices, establishing processes, plans, and procedures for timely, accurate engineering support.
- Design and execute workforce-competency strategies to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
- Oversee performance management, coaching, and career development for team members to drive excellence.
- Lead pursuit support and technical planning for new business opportunities within F-35, Integrated Fighter Group, and Advanced Development Programs.
- Guide integration of thermal structural analysis, environmental control systems, power & thermal management, and thermal avionics across aircraft programs.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical engineering or a related disciplined.
5+ years of experience applying thermal science principles, tools, and processes in real world engineering or research environments
Desired skills Demonstrated success shaping and leading a team in a dynamic business environment.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers and senior management.
Advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Team Management Experience within Flight Science disciplines
Familiar with development of engineering methods and software.
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Ability to manage, coach, train and motivate team in technical and leadership development.
Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters / solutions with senior leadership.
Familiarity with Flight Sciences tools and processes

Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
