About the RoleWe're seeking a Mid-Level Network Engineer to support a large-scale network refresh initiatives across multiple business units. This role plays a key part in branch site upgrades, new real estate/customer builds, and modernization efforts across the enterprise.
You'll focus heavily on Cisco router and switch configuration while partnering closely with Senior engineers on complex deployment work. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to deepen their Cisco skills, gain exposure to automation, and contribute to high-visibility infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches across branch and new-site environments.
- Support all stages of network refresh programs, including device staging, configuration, shipping logistics, and on-site coordination.
- Submit, track, and execute change requests following established processes.
- Collaborate with network engineers, project managers, and real estate/customer teams on site-build initiatives.
- Participate in Agile workflows (two-week sprints; no daily standups).
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, network changes, and operational procedures.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving network performance issues.
- Contribute to early automation and infrastructure-as-code efforts using tools like Ansible and Python.
Required Skills- Hands-on experience with:
- Cisco routers
- Cisco switches
- Cisco IOS
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, WAN technologies, and enterprise network best practices.
- Experience submitting and executing change requests in ticketing systems.
- Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible or Python.
- CCNA required
Preferred Skills- CCNP certification
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies for campus and site build-outs
- Experience with design review and infrastructure planning
- Ability to support hardware procurement, configuration, and standards compliance
Additional Responsibilities- Review and contribute to network design proposals for LAN/WAN and campus environments.
- Provide hardware estimates and order/configure new equipment as needed.
- Validate required ports/services for device authentication and communication.
- Coordinate with Operations teams to ensure smooth installation, onboarding, and production turnover.
- Ensure all project-acquired hardware meets engineering and security standards.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
