Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA), is searching for a Data Analyst / Business Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in lower Manhattan, New York, NY. Hybrid schedule requiring onsite attendance 3 days per week. The successful candidate will support a major new product launch initiative within the bank's Finance organization. This role will focus on data governance, data lineage, data quality, functional requirements development, and project execution across Product Control and Regulatory Reporting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong banking industry experience, excellent business analysis capabilities, and a solid understanding of governance and controls frameworks.
Responsibilities: - Develop functional requirements supporting the implementation of new products across Product Control, Balance Sheet, P&L, and Regulatory Reporting functions.
- Document Registered Data Assets (RDAs), Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and supporting metadata.
- Analyze and document end-to-end data sourcing, data mappings, transformations, and data lineage.
- Gather process details and develop detailed process documentation, workflows, and process flow diagrams.
- Develop and support testing of data quality rules, mappings, and controls.
- Produce project documentation and governance artifacts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate review, approval, and signoff processes for completed deliverables.
- Support data governance, process governance, and control-related initiatives.
- Manage project activities through all phases of the project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
- Collaborate with Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Data Governance, and Business stakeholders.
Required Skills: - 5+ years of Business Analysis experience within the banking industry.
- 3+ years of end-to-end Project Management experience.
- 2+ years of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience.
- 3+ years of data management experience including Data Quality, Metadata, Data Lineage, Data Governance, Data Provisioning, Reference Data, or Issue Management.
- Strong experience developing detailed business and functional requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Regulatory Reporting experience.
- Global Banking & Markets experience.
- Collibra experience.
- Power BI experience.
- PeopleSoft experience.
- CPA certification.
