Category Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Northbrook, IL that is seeking a Category Manager.

Responsibilities:
* Lead the strategic sourcing and procurement lifecycle for technology-related spend, including software, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, managed services, and IT consulting engagements
* Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx development, supplier evaluations, negotiations, contracting, renewals, and vendor management
* Build and maintain strong relationships with technology suppliers to ensure high service levels and favorable commercial terms
* Develop and execute category strategies that drive value, mitigate risk, and support business objectives
* Partner closely with stakeholders across IT, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business units to align sourcing initiatives with organizational priorities
* Analyze spend data and market trends to identify optimization opportunities and develop business cases for sourcing initiatives
* Lead negotiations for software licensing, cloud subscriptions, professional services, and managed service agreements
* Drive supplier rationalization and consolidation efforts to maximize buying power and improve operational efficiency
* Ensure adherence to procurement policies, governance processes, and contractual standards
* Support process improvements, sourcing transformation initiatives, and procurement best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field
* 3+ years of experience in IT sourcing, strategic procurement, category management, or technology vendor management
* Demonstrated experience leading RFx processes and contract negotiations
* Strong understanding of commercial contracting practices and supplier management
* Proven ability to identify and deliver meaningful cost savings and value improvements through strategic sourcing
* Experience analyzing spend data and developing sourcing strategies based on business needs and market insights
* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable engaging with and presenting recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Experience sourcing and negotiating agreements across:
* Enterprise software and SaaS solutions
* Cloud technologies
* Hardware and infrastructure
* IT professional services and consulting engagements
* Managed services

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
