Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a
Sr. Java Developer (Java/Spring/AWS) for a
contract assignment with one of our premier
Financial Services clients in
New York, NY.
Responsibilities :
- Design, build, configure, and improve applications, databases, test automation, and DevOps processes.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and turn them into scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Follow approved SDLC/PDLC methods and write thorough design documentation.
- Write secure code and perform unit, integration, and functional testing.
- Review peers' code against engineering standards and design patterns.
- Partner with product teams, help drive adoption, and solve complex technical issues.
- Provide on-call support, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and handle service requests.
- Work independently as a senior technical expert and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Core requirements
- 10 + years of experience working with Java (Currently using 8+) in an highly regulated industry
- Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, and Spring Security.
- REST APIs and JSON.
- Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL and Shell Scripting
- Secure coding and application security.
- Unit, integration, and functional testing, Software design, debugging, and peer review.
- Strong AWS experience
- WebSphere Application Server or Liberty and IBM MQ.
Preferred Skills:
- Front-end technologies such as Angular, HTML5, and CSS3.
- SQL, Oracle, and data modeling.
- CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab.
- NgRx, RxJS, Connect:Direct, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Functional Knowledge Preferences:
- PDLC/SDLC
- CI/CD, DevOps, Data Modeling
- Agentic AI, Claude Code Technical Skills
- SQL, Oracle
- Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab
- Java, Spring, Angular
