A bit about us:

Experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background managing commercial and mechanical construction projects throughout Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Baltimore from preconstruction through closeout. Skilled in overseeing HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems; coordinating subcontractors; preparing RFIs; managing schedules and budgets; and maintaining project documentation in fast-paced environments. Proven ability to lead field and office teams, support client relationships, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within scope. Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction management processes with a strong focus on organization, communication, and problem-solving.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manage mechanical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee all aspects of projects, including mechanical and plumbing work, HVAC systems, and piping.
  • Maintain subcontractors, ensuring their work meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare and submit RFIs (Request for Information) and other project documentation, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct take off, calculating the materials, labor, and time required for projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure projects meet all technical specifications and requirements.
  • Resolve any issues or delays that may occur during the construction process, implementing solutions to prevent such problems from reoccurring.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, as well as any other relevant laws and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, managing mechanical construction projects.
  • Expertise in mechanical and plumbing work, HVAC systems, and piping.
  • Proven ability to maintain subcontractors, ensuring their work meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Experience preparing RFIs and other project documentation.
  • Strong understanding of the take off process, including calculating the materials, labor, and time required for projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve any issues or delays that may occur during the construction process.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as any other relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar.
  • PMP or similar certification would be considered an asset.
